Cancellation Policy

At Trusty Handy, we understand that plans can change. To keep our service fair to both customers and our team, we have set out the following cancellation terms.

1. Cancelling or Rescheduling a Booking

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule your booking, please let us know as soon as possible.

  • You must give us at least 24 hours’ notice prior to your scheduled appointment time.

 

2. Deposits

  • All bookings require a non-refundable deposit, which secures your appointment and covers the first hour of service.

  • If you cancel with more than 24 hours’ notice, your deposit will be retained but no further charges will apply.

  • If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, or if our handyman arrives on site and is unable to carry out the work due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., no access), you may be charged in full for the first hour.

 

3. Rescheduling Appointments

  • You may reschedule your booking with no penalty provided you give at least 24 hours’ notice.

  • Deposits will be carried forward to the new appointment date.

  • If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, a new deposit may be required.

 

4. No-Show Policy

If you fail to provide access to the property or are not present at the time of the booking, the appointment will be treated as a cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice. Charges will apply as set out above.

 

5. Emergency Call-Outs

For emergency bookings (e.g., leaks, burst pipes, urgent repairs), the deposit is non-refundable regardless of cancellation time due to the immediate nature of the service.

 

6. Our Right to Cancel

We may cancel or reschedule your booking if:

  • The work required falls outside the scope of handyman services.

  • Conditions on site are unsafe.

  • Circumstances beyond our control prevent us from attending (e.g., severe weather, illness, or transport issues).

In such cases, we will contact you as soon as possible and either reschedule your booking or refund your deposit in full.
